Company Brief Mission: Saving time and money for our clients by lessening their turnover rate.  When it is your business, it is your business to know.

Job description: Owner/CEO

Length of service: Prior to B & B Reporting, Inc. being incorporated 13 years ago I did basically the same work out of my home for approximately 10 years.  While working from home I also had a full time job with the State of Alabama.

Favorite Awards & Honors: Northeast Alabama Women of Distinction; Transition Employer of the Year Award.

Family:  My husband, Bruce, and I have three children, 2 lovely daughters-in-law, 4 beautiful grandchildren and a wonderful extended family.  As the old African proverb states.."it takes a village to raise a child....."

Personal Business Philosophy: Hard work and dedication to the job at hand.

Advice to women in business: Never be intimidated.  I think of my self as a "business person" first and the fact that I am a woman should not be a factor in how well my business operates.  Being a minority may help our chances of winning a contract, BUT, working hard and keeping the client happy is the key to success.  Never get so big that you forget the people that helped you get where you are today.

Best advice ever received: "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -- Mark Twain

Secret to surviving in business: Perseverance and hard work.  If you gave birth to your business, as I did, it becomes a part of you.  You gradually give it a little freedom, like you do your children, but you should never be completely out of the picture.  Be available for the people that have entrusted their business needs with you.

Your strongest inspiration: My family and a wonderful friend and mentor, Louise Bridges, who encouraged me and prayed for me to make the right decisions.

What being in business has taught you: Respect and admiration for other business owners.  The people who think that just because you own a business you can do as you please and have money to burn need to give it a try.  Working  24 hour days puts a business owner at way less than minimum wage!

Secret to dealing with employees: When you succed allow the loyal ones to share in your success.  Without loyalty to the company employess have nowhere to go except out, but with loyalty success is limitless.  Employees need direction to help grow your business.

Special comments:  While growing your business sometimes it is easy to just focus on the business.  Never forget that God and your family come first.  Always make time for them and all other things will fall into place.
