Secret to surviving in business: Many years ago, my grandfather said that “if you make a quality product, they will keep coming back.” That adage has been our guiding principle for over 60 years and is no doubt a large part of our success.
Being in business has taught me: Always look ahead and have a contingency plan. Always hire the smartest, most capable people you can find.
Someone should have told me: Don’t take yourself too seriously. Being a professional in business is fun. Enjoy it.
Secret to dealing with employees: Whether they are the janitor or the CEO, treat everyone with the same dignity and respect.
What most people don’t realize about me: I paint.
