Length of Service: In 1982, Jane Schmalz established Systematic Services as the first executive suite operation in Birmingham. Dede began working for Jane in 1983 when she expanded the business. In 1997, Sharon and Dede bought the business.

Education: Sharon's major was accounting and Dede's background is in architectural drafting and accounting, both having attended college while working full-time.

Family: Sharon, along with husband, Paul, and daughter, Jennifer, live in Ashville with a multitude of animals.
Dede and husband, Greg, have two daughters, Hillery and Merrill.

Business Philosophy: To provide quality, professional services to our clients, while creating a personable atmosphere. We want our clients to enjoy coming to work as much as we do!

Favorite Quote: "If we focus on success, we will probably forget about living. If we focus on living and doing what we love, we have a good chance of being successful."

Advice to women in business: Persevere! To succeed, you must be willing to put forth the extra effort to make it so.

Best advice: Both Dede and Sharon feel that the best "advice" was the example set by our parents - work hard, be honest and show respect to the people around you.

Secret to Surviving: Be willing to work for what you want to accomplish and broaden your knowledge, especially with new technology.

Strongest inspiration: Being presented a challenge; to take a new idea from conception to fruition.

Dealing with Employees: Both of us, having been in the workforce, realize that being fair to our employees, sharing the success and showing respect to each of them will allow us to receive the rewards.

Special Comments: The nature of our business deems a strong emphasis on teamwork. We do not feel we could have achieved the level of success we have without a personal relationship. Our friendship and respect for each other's ideas and talents have helped us to grow.
